As a business owner, there are necessities in order to be successful. I have compiled a list of the items I have found to be necessary, or at the very least, convenient while running my business. Feel free to ask me any questions regarding any of the products below!

LIGHTING KIT – As an online seller, a light kit is an absolute must! How else are we supposed to take those gorgeous flatlays?! Below are a few I highly recommend.
This is the kit I have personally purchased. I wanted the background set-up. However, I have never actually used the background set up.
If you’re wanting a lighting kit, and don’t need the background set up, like me, then this is your best bet! This has all of the necessary lights!
I haven’t personally used this lighting kit, but I’ve heard AMAZING things about this light box. This is perfect if you have many small items, such as jewelry, to photograph. It’s a little pricey, but it literally folds up, and you can take it anywhere!
I haven’t used this either, but this is a cheaper version of the light box above. It’s smaller, and the set up is a little more of a challenge, but it’s still a great alternative! This box also comes with several different backgrounds.
STEAMERS – Let’s face it, no one wants to purchase a wrinkled garment. I also know how much ironing sucks! When I got married, I asked for a steamer and I got it. I have not ironed anything since! A steamer will become your new bestfriend in no time! Even if you don’t go with either of my recommendations, get a standalone steamer!!! Hand-held steamers will not be your best friend, and I can almost guarantee you will hate your hand-held steamer!
This is the steamer I started out with, and I still use it at my house for my personal clothes.
Once we moved the business out of our home and to a store front, I knew I wanted a more powerful steamer. There’s nothing wrong with the other steamer, but it is not made to steam an entire clothing store! This is not the steamer I upgraded to, but it is the most similar. The one I purchased was from target because I needed it that day! The steamer I have for the store is just like this one though – pant clips is the upgrade I reeeeally wanted
PRINTER – If you’re a serious seller, the Dymo label printer is a MUST! It’s a hefty up front expense, but the good news – you’ll never have to purchase ink! Below is the link for the Dymo 4XL.
Labels – If you’re going to invest in the 4XL, you’re going to need labels. Below is the link for labels I purchase!
Branding – Every business owner needs amazing branding! Once you have your logo in place, you’ve gotta get your hands on some shipping materials!
Sticker Mule can be a little pricey. However, you can get sample sizes for a bargain! PLUS – sign up for emails to be notified of the many sales they run! You can also get STEEP discounts when you purchase in bulk, which is what I do. Let’s face it, branding is an investment, and if you’re serious about your business, it’s time to get serious about your branding! You can use Sticker Mule to stock up on stickers, poly mailers, packaging tape, and much more!
LOGO – Speaking of branding… do you have a logo? If not, it’s time for one! I promise having a logo makes a difference. I can’t tell you how many people I have met at various events that know who I am because of my logo!
I have personally used Upwork for many projects. I did not use Upwork for my logo, but I did use it for this website! All you have to do is simply post a job, and you will have freelancers submitting bids to you from all around the world. You can use Upwork for anything, including a logo! This link is not an affiliate link, so I will not make any money if you use this link.
You can purchase a logo for as little as $5. Like Upwork, you can use Fiverr for many things other than a logo. Tread lightly though. If you purchase a logo for $5, the quality may not be the best. Be sure to vet the freelancers for someone reputable!
BOOKS – Many books have guided me in my entrepreneurial journey, and I think you would benefit from these as well. Feel free to dive into one or all! *These are all books that I have personally read. I know there is an infinite amount of helpful books for aspiring entrepreneurs, but I have only included books that I have personally read. Make sure to check back for any new additions!
This was the very first book I read that inspired me to want “more” out of life. This is a personal finance book, and it lays a GREAT foundation for getting your finances in order. I have personally gifted this book to several friends, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Ramit is a thought leader in the online entrepreneurial space, and I highly suggest digesting all of his free information on his website!
So this is definitely a classic! This is one of the more recent books I have read. I heard about Rich Dad Poor Dad countless times over the years from other entrepreneurs, and I can’t believe it took me so long to get my hands on it (I blame law school). Do yourself a favor and read this ASAP!
Once I got my hands on this book, I couldn’t put it down. I literally woke up at 5:30 a.m. one morning just so I could read it. I’m determined to make 2018 the year I truly get my mindset on track, and this book has been a game changer. If you want to become successful in whatever you do, the first step is having the right mindset. This book is sure to get you well on your way!
